Location

Villa Sorrento is a brand new tranquil country community conveniently located in Polk County on US Highway 27 between Davenport and Haines City. Only minutes from Junction 55 on Interstate 4 the location makes for excellent travel links and easy driving to all of Florida’s major attractions.

In addition to the usual theme park attractions the local area has so much to offer whether you are looking for adventure or relaxation. There are beautiful parks and gardens, rivers, lakes and nature areas just waiting to be explored.

It has History too!
The area has a history that dates back to when the Native Americans headed by leaders such as Chief Tallahassee and Chief Chipco made their homes here along the banks of the many lakes in the area. Today these lakes provide a playground for water skiing, fishing, wild airboat rides or wildlife spotting.

Haines City is a quaint little town that was originally called Clay Cut because of the railroad tracks that were built deep in the clay. It became known as Haines City when Colonel Henry Haines brought about the building of the town’s train station.

Later farmers planted citrus trees which started an industry still in production today and they developed one of the states largest co-ops, The Haines City Citrus Growers Association. It was during the 1920’s & 30’s this industry boomed and many of the buildings you can see today in the downtown district of Haines City were built and are now listed on the National Historic Register.

You can witness a small piece of this history yourself, whilst relaxing on our pool deck you will take in the views of the fragrant orange groves and the distant sound of the train horn’s as the trains pass through Haines City.
